LETTER TO GRADE 4 PARENTS
3rd September, 2018.
Dear Parent/Guardian,
I wish to warmly welcome you to the 2018 – 2019 year at Maria Regina Grade School. I am looking forward to an exciting and productive year with your child.
I would like to draw your attention to a few reminders so that we can work together for the benefit of your child:
1. We encourage students to arrive on time to school which begins at 7:30 a.m. from Monday to Thursday. Students who arrive late will lose valuable instructional time.
2. Teachers will be checking your children's texts and copybooks on the first day of school and once all is in order, we ask that you cover and label all their books to preserve their condition throughout the upcoming year.
3. Please ensure that your child comes to school every day with an age-appropriate book to read for our sustained silent reading session (R.A.R.E.) after lunch.
4. For Physical Education classes, it is recommended that your child uses sunblock and wears a cap with a visor.
5. A freshen-up kit should be brought to school daily and replenished regularly.
6. Please provide a simple board game for your child to bring to school for use on scheduled days. This game should be labelled clearly with your child's name. It will be kept in school.
7. Do support your child by signing homework assignments and class assessments daily.
8. A written excuse signed by the parent and/or adult in charge is required if
· homework assignments are incomplete or not done at all.
· your child is absent from school.
· your child has to leave the school premises during school hours.
· your child is required to take medication during school hours.
· there is any alteration to your child’s school uniform.
9. Should you need to schedule a parent-teacher conference, please send an email via my contact page, or contact me via the school’s office and I will be happy to make an appointment at a time that is convenient to all concerned.
I look forward to a great year as we work together to support your child in this very important time of schooling.
Sincerely,
Miss M. Robinson
